Pakistan praises China for domestic reforms

Geneva – 21 May 2008. ‘Domestic policy reforms of China, which keep building on the previous initiatives, ensure the exceptional economic growth rate of more than 10% year after year’, said Dr. Manzoor Ahmad – the top trade envoy of Pakistan to WTO. He termed these reforms as ‘pro-initiative, resource-saving and environment-friendly’.

Making a statement on this occasion, he applauded the role of efforts of Chinese economic leaders in not only lifting a larger segment of their society out of poverty but also stimulating poverty reduction across the globe through trade expansion and outbound FDI in developing countries. On bilateral trade and economic relations, he made a special mention of the free trade deal between the two friendly neighbours, and reiterated the desire of the two nations to lead bilateral trade to US$ 10 billions by the end of 2010.
