Another honor for Pakistan in the WTO

Pakistan has added another feather to its cap by getting elected for the Permanent Group of Experts (PGE) under the Committee on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures. Dr. Manzoor Ahmad is among the four experts selected for PGE to hold office for four years. The election process held during June/July involved consultations amongst members and the elected experts were approved by the Committee on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures in its special formal meeting on 31st July 2008. The other three elected experts are from China , Chinese Taipei and the USA .

PGE is an expert body established under Article 24.3 of the WTO Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures. This group is consulted in various issues referred by the Committee for having an independent and professional advice.
